Asia’s biggest mango market gutted
Vijayawada, May 22
 
Almost the entire mango market, Asia’s largest, was gutted in a major fire on Monday, destroying large stocks of mangoes, besides lorries, tractors aircoolers and transformers. However, no casualty was reported, the police said here on Tuesday. As many as 71 shops of the total 80 were gutted. A spark from an oven where a worker was cooking is suspected to be the cause of the fire. PTI

Situation calm in Banswara
Jaipur, May 22
No untoward incident was reported from the curfew-bound Banswara town which witnessed violence and looting on Sunday following the death of three persons in a road accident, the police said here on Tuesday. Fourteen persons have been arrested in connection with the incident, the police said. Additional forces had been rushed to the town from Udaipur and Dungarpur districts. PTI
