Rainfall:
Rain or snow has occurred at many places in Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are Himachal Pradesh: Bainath (4) Jogindernagar (3) Bhuntar and Manali (2 each) Barsar, Gohar, Kasol, Kahu and Sujanpur Tira (1 each) and Banihal (1) Punjab: Nangal (1).

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and east Rajasthan, fell in Uttaranchal, rose in east UP and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in east UP and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 36.6°C recorded at Jhansi (UP).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in east UP, rose in west Uttar Pradesh, fell in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. 

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Uttar Pradesh, above normalin east Rajasthan, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.7 C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 24th: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in east UP and at isolated places in west UP. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Thundersqualls are likely at isolated places in east UP.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 24th: Mainly clear sky. No significant change in the maximum and minimum temperatures.
