Cold wave prevails
NEW DELHI, Feb 1 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of Punjab and west Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions are also prevailing in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. They are likely to extend to parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next two days.

  • The maximum temperature on Thursday was 21°C (69.8°F) and the minimum 7.4°C (45.3°F).
    The maximum relative humidity was 75 per cent and the minimum 22 per cent.
  • Sunset: Friday: 5.59
  • Sunrise: Saturday: 7.13
  • OUTLOOK FOR  FRIDAY: Mainly clear sky. Minimum temperature on Saturday will be around 7°C.

NEW DELHI, Feb 1 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of Punjab and west Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions are also prevailing in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. They are likely to extend to parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next two days.

Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours’ change: Minimum temperatures fell markedly in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, fell appreciably in Haryana, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were below normal in Haryana and in the remaining parts of Punjab and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was minus 0.8°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 3rd: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in Haryana and Kashmir. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 3rd: Clear sky. Strong chilly winds during day time. Cold wave conditions to prevail. Further fall in minimum temperature and will be around 5°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of 3rd: Sky will be clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two day: No large change.
