in region NEW DELHI, Jan 29 — Cold wave conditions have abated in
Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan. Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry in the region. Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in west Rajasthan and
Uttaranchal, rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan and
Uttaranchal, above normal in Haryana and east Rajasthan, below normal in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab). Forecast valid until the morning of January 31: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in
Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in
Haryana, Punjab and north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
