Cold wave abates in region
NEW DELHI, Jan 22 — Cold wave conditions have abated from Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, thus from the entire region.

  • The maximum temperature on Monday was 21.2°C (70.2°F) and the minimum 8.4°C (47.1°F).
    The maximum relative humidity was 89 per cent and the minimum 27 per cent.

Cold wave abates in region

NEW DELHI, Jan 22 — Cold wave conditions have abated from Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, thus from the entire region.

Rainfall: Rain or snow occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam and Quazigund 2 each. Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundi 13 and Solang Nala 6.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: These were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.7° C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 24th: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 24th: Mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards evening/night. Fog during night and morning. Minimum temperature will be around 5° C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of 24th: Sky will be partly cloudy.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
