NEW DELHI, Dec 28 — Cold wave conditions have abated in Punjab.

Rainfall: Very light rain or snow occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change; Minimum temperatures rose in Punjab and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were below normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 3.4°C recorded at Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of December 30: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of December 30: Mainly clear sky. Fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 7°C.
