Controversy surrounds PUDA booths
SAS NAGAR, Sept 10 — Controversy has shrouded the recently constructed 108 booths by the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority in Sector 64 market here for riot-affected Sikh migrants. The occupants of illegal shops adjacent to Amb Sahib Gurdwara in Sector 62 had to be rehabilitated in the booths constructed by PUDA.

HUDA suffers avoidable loss of Rs 33 lakh
PANCHKULA, Sept 10 — The Haryana Urban Development Authority has suffered a loss of Rs 33.07 lakh on account of encroachment on land allotted to customers by a draw of lots in Sector 21 of the city. This was stated in the CAG report recently tabled in the Haryana Assembly.

CHANDIGARH, Sept 10 — In a major breakthrough, the local police claims to have busted a gang of chain snatchers, including a women, operating in the city for the past two years. Property worth over Rs 3 lakh has been recovered from the gang.

Exhibition on hi-tech medical facilities

PU centre shuttlers win most titles
CHANDIGARH, Sept 10 — The badminton trainees of the Panjab University Coaching Centre won a maximum number of titles in the Chandigarh State Badminton Championships that concluded here today in the Sector 42 hall. The four-day tournament was organised by the Chandigarh Badminton Association and 169 players participated in the 20 events that were held.

Priyanka, Harkiran skating fest champs
CHANDIGARH, Sept 10 — Priyanka among girls and Harkiran among boys won in the above-14 section on the final day of the First Chandigarh Skating Festival organised by the Wonderland Skate Club here in the Sector 10 Skating Rink. Such a meet had been organised for the first time in the city.
