JMM(N) to merge with JMM (S)
PURULIA, March 8 (UNI) — The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (Soren) will get a shot in the arm as the JMM (Nirmal) has decided to merge with the Soren group. Mr Ajit Prasad Mahato of the JMM (Nirmal) said today that his party had discussed its plan with the All-India President of the JMM (S). Mr Mahato is likely to meet Mr Soren soon.

All women
MUMBAI, March 8 (UNI) — To mark the International Women’s Day, the Indian Airlines today operated an all-women flight. Capt Anupama Kohli commandeered Airbus-320 from Mumbai to New Delhi today along with her co-pilot Nirmal and a flight crew of five women. The other flight crew on board the flight IC-809 were the air-hostesses, Ms Nangia, Ms Sayed, Ms Jaya, Mr Khokhar and Ms Patel.

Mawlong sworn in
SHILLONG, March 8 (PTI) — Mr E.K. Mawlong was today sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Governor M.M. Jacob administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new incumbent. A 29-member Council of Ministers also took oath at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here.
