Police to take on purse snatchers
CHANDIGARH, Sept 14 — Even as the Chandigarh police continues to grope in the dark about most of the culprits involved in the purse or chain snatching incidents in the city which have created a scare among the people, particularly women, it has rounded up 15 suspects during the past 24 hours under a special drive launched against such elements.

Resident booked for felling tree CHANDIGARH, Sept 14 —The police has booked a resident of Sector 8 on the charges of illegally felling a tree.According to sources, Sukhchain reportedly fell a tree of "ficus benjamin" last evening. The tree was reportedly cut to facilitate the building of an illegal structure.
