I am a 35-year-old married man. For the last six months, I’ve been dreaming of dangerous snakes. Sometimes the snakes touch me, but they never bite me. I get scared of them.

A.P. Bharadwaj, Chandigarh

Why be scared of something that does not harm you? You are reacting this way because you know that snakes are dangerous. Treat this dream as a lesson. Not all that you hear about a person is true. And a person who seems good need not necessarily be good at heart too. Never judge people by their appearances.

I am a 32-year-old married woman. Since last year, I have been regularly dreaming of my husband’s death. I even see myself crying.

XYZ, Yol

Freud interpreted such a dream as a wish-fulfilment act for repressed wishes. Is your marriage running through rough waters? Be more understanding and patient. Consult a marriage counsellor.

I am a 15-year-old student. Since the past five to six months, I have been dreaming of becoming extremely rich. I am worried by this dream.

Sweety, Qadian

Why should a dream of riches worry you? In a way it is a wish-fulfilment dream. You desire riches but at the same time you’re scared that the dream might not come true. Well, there are no short-cuts here. You have to work hard to make this dream come true.

I am 55 years old. In my dreams, I often wish to go to the toilet. I am usually unable to find one. When I do find one, it is either in a broken condition with no door or there is no water or there is some other handicap and I am unable to use it.

V.K. Singh, Hisar

These dreams can be related to your infancy — may be a faulty or harsh toilet training that has left an impact on you. The dream represents the fear of dirtying your clothes, thus the search for a toilet. The inability to use the toilet portrays the repression. Your parents must have been unduly strict about your toilet training.

I am a student of B.Sc. I often dream of driving different vehicles. Whatever the obstruction, I keep driving without stopping.

Sonika, Yamunanagar

Do you wish to grow up fast, Sonika? Try and enjoy each stage that you pass through, for it is not going to come again.
