11 women die after sterilisation surgery, 4 docs suspended
Raipur: Eleven women died and 49 others were hospitalised after botched sterilisation procedure at a state-run camp in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district, prompting the government to suspend four doctors and transfer the Director of Health Services.

Blast near Kolkata NIA camp office
Kolkata, November 10
A minor blast took place near a CRPF camp, which houses the camp office of NIA probing the Burdwan blast, today. The NIA camp office, situated in the Bidhannagar area in the suburb of the city, is also being used to interrogate Sajid, the mastermind of the Burdwan blast, and other arrested suspects in the blast.

BJP-SAD panel fails to decide on VAT cut

The SAD-BJP co-ordination committee meeting on Monday failed to take any decision on reduction of VAT on industry and fuel. Amid a “high-pitched verbal duel” between the two sides, the panel decided to put the ball in Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s court.
