NEW DELHI: Fourteen AAP supporters were arrested after Delhi Police registered an FIR in connection with the clashes outside the BJP national headquarters here between supporters of the two parties that left 28 people injured.

The Great Indian General Election, the biggest ever democratic process in the country’s history, will be conducted in nine phases between April 7 and May 12.
Counting of votes in all 543 constituencies is slated for May 16 and the 16th Lok Sabha has to be constituted by May 31.

Punjab poll officer ‘admits’ he visited DGP Saini

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer VK Singh today virtually admitted that he visited Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini at the latter’s residence. He, however, tried to play down the incident, saying it was not as big an issue as it was made out by the Opposition and the media.

Uphaar tragedy: SC holds Ansals guilty

The Supreme Court today held real estate barons Sushil and Gopal Ansal guilty in the 1997 Uphaar cinema tragedy that claimed the lives of 59 persons saying they were more interested about making money than ensuring safety of the cinegoers.
