Make best use of Parliament's winter session: PM to parties
New Delhi, December 05:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today urged political parties to make the best use of the time available during Parliament's "short" winter session. The session of Parliament has begin from today with the opposition expected to seek to corner the government on price rise, the JPC report on 2G spectrum allocation and problems of farmers. -- ANI



Sabotage of rail tracks in Bangladesh causes derailment; 3 die, 47 hurt
Bangladesh, December 05:
At least three passengers died and 47 others sustained injuries as some alleged miscreants removed fishplates from rail tracks in Gaibandha district of Bangladesh, leading to derailment of a train during a nationwide blockade programme of the opposition parties. Earlier, there was gunfire on the streets in the country as opposition parties extended their nationwide strike for two more days, seeking postponement of polls even as violence raged on. In Dhaka, supporters of ruling Bangladesh Awami League shouted slogans against the nationwide blockade of opposition parties, led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). The government supporters also burned the effigies of main opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia. -- ANI



Narayan Sai rebuffs sexual assault allegations
New Delhi, December 05:
Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu's son Narayan Sai today rebuffed sexual assault allegations against him after the crime branch of Delhi police arrested him on a complaint lodged by two sisters from Surat. A court in New Delhi granted a 24-hour transit remand of Sai along with two others to the Guajrat police on December 4 in the case. -- ANI
