India seeks Japanese cooperation in energy sector
New Delhi, September 13 (ANI): An inter-governmental agreement was signed between India and Japan, wherein India has sought Japanese aid, including technical know-how for exploration and tapping of energy sources and setting up of research and development facilities in
the sector. During the meet yesterday, both sides recognised that it was important to hold the India-Japan
energy dialogues annually and that the issues of energy security and global environment
were high-priority challenges requiring continuous and effective action.
Shopian killing: APHC chairman under house arrest
Srinagar, September 13 (ANI): Chairman of separatist All Parties Hurriyat Conference
(APHC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest by the Srinagar police. Earlier, the administration obligated him from holding a press conference on the recent incident of violence in Shopian. Although a posse of security personnel was deployed outside Farooq’s residence, he attempted to talk to mediapersons by standing on an elevated area in his house. Meanwhile, a shutdown call was declared by hardliner Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to protest against the repeated human rights violations in the state.

PaK’s delivery on issues: Kurshid
Bishkek, September 13 (ANI): Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid, while
on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, said a meeting between the prime
ministers of India and Pakistan in New York would require "an atmosphere" and delivery by Islamabad on issues raised by New Delhi. Pakistan
prime minister Nawaz Sharif's top foreign policy aide Sartaj Aziz is likely to meet Khurshid in Bishkek,
the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to try to schedule a meeting between the
prime ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York later this month.
