PGI docs show concern for patients

Resident doctors today protested against the failure of the PGI authorities to provide state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to patients.
Over 1,000 resident doctors performed their duties in various departments and the emergency of the PGI wearing black badges, showing their disappointment over the apathy of the PGI administration.

Finally, water supply restored
Mohali, September 2
Finally, water supply in the Phase III pipeline of the Kajauli Water Works was restored this afternoon, and 20 MGD water released on Monday evening
The authorities were still apprehensive about the restoration of water supply in Phase IV pipeline. “Some repair work is still pending, which will be completed by tomorrow afternoon”, said an official on the job.

BJP Kisan Morcha members block traffic

PM’s visit: Patil takes stock of situation, convenes meeting

Govt to invest RS 1,700 cr on rural link roads: Minister

The Punjab Government will invest Rs 1,700 crore in a project to upgrade rural link roads, the work on which will begin next month.
This was stated by Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra while interacting with mediapersons at the Majri block office. Rakhra had reached there to participate in the ceremony of assuming charge by Manjit Kaur Majra as the chairperson of the Block Samiti, Majri, and Manjit Singh Khijarabad as the vice-chairman.
Woman run over by train

A 40-year-old woman was run over by a train near Dhakoli, on the Ambala-Kalka railway line, on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Darshna Devi, a resident of Hem Vihar in Baltana.
Farmers submit memorandum

Kissan Morcha, BJP, Punjab and Haryana, assembled at Zirakpur today and submitted a memorandum to the governor of Punjab.
