Cabinet rejig likely this week; Maken resigns

New Delhi, June 15
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Ajay Maken on Saturday resigned from his post ahead of an expected reshuffle of the Council of Ministers next week.

Sources say the rejig may happen as early as Monday in which PM Manmohan Singh may fill several vacancies in his Council of Ministers.

The latest vacancies were created by resignations of Union Ministers PK Bansal and Ashwani Kumar. Ministers holding two portfolios could be divested of one.
