Passenger complains about security loop-holes

Amarjit Singh Bhatia, a passenger of Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi (12012) has lodged a complaint with the railway authorities that six days ago while travelling on the train, which departed at 6:23 pm from Chandigarh, no baggage checking was conducted by the staff of railway protection force (RPF) deployed in the coach.

Senate to decide on five-day working schedule for PU-affiliated colleges

The recent decision of introducing a five-day working schedule in all the Panjab University-affiliated colleges will be tabled at the special Senate meeting on April 27. A committee, comprising of college principals and teachers, constituted by the university last year had recently recommended replacement of the six-day schedule by a five-day schedule to encourage research at colleges.

Chandigarh: Bhawan Vidyalaya Junior, Sector 33, conducted a special assembly to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti and Earth Day. The programme commenced with a prayer. A short play, ‘Earth Day’, was staged by the environmental club ‘Vasundhara’ to apprise children of the importance of the day.
