Farmers’ body holds protest Tarn Taran, April 3 The workers of the ZKS had come here to present a memorandum of their demands to the Powercom officials but were prevented from entering the office. Due to the protest, normal traffic remained disrupted for hours . Dr Satnam Singh Ajnala, state president of the ZKS, while addressing the workers condemned the police for preventing them from presenting a memorandum of their demands to the officials. The dharna was lifted only when the police officials arranged their meeting with the Powercom authorities. The next date for discussion on the demands has been fixed to April 17, said Dr Ajnala. Dr Ajnala said the organisation was demanding for the innovation of the power supply system by removing old cables and tightening the baggy wires. The kisan organisation in a resolution, which was passed on the occasion, has demanded a judicial probe into the Jeobala episode, in which an ASI died in a controversy with farmers. A case under Sections 302, 201 of the IPC had been registered against the farmers in that case .
