Pilgrims arriving for Purnagiri fair face water shortage
Pithoragarh, March 14 While the pilgrims have started coming to the Bhairav temple from Tanakpur, the security arrangements at the temple are not proper. A sufficient number of policemen have not been deputed at the post there till date. “Our team of 10 members did not get drinking water last evening as there was no supply of water for the pilgrims between the Bharav temple and Thuligar,” said Ram Dulare, a pilgrim from Bisalpur subdivision of Pilibhit district in Uttar Pradesh. “The local administration is preparing to provide various facilities in the mela zone from the Bhairav temple to the main temple. Sixty sanitary workers will start working from March onwards and light and sound systems will be switched on from March 28,” said JP Arya, Mela Officer deputed for the Purnagiri Mela this year. Arya said the road to the Bhairav temple from Thuligar is being repaired these days but due to a financial crunch the work was going on at a slow pace. “The Champawat Zila Panchayat is doing the work keeping in mind its limited resources,” said the mela officer. However, in cases of finger or thumb amputation, if the part has been preserved properly, successful reattachment has been reported even after 17-18 hours of the injury,” said Dr
