Farmer booked: The Sadar police has booked Deshbandhu, a farmer of Ruharianwali village, under Section 307 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. A money lender Sukhwinder Singh alleged that the accused shot at him when he demanded repayment of loan.

s community radio celebrates 2nd anniversary: Panjab University's community radio station, "Jyotirgamaya", 91.2, today celebrated its 2nd anniversary at the School of Communication Studies. A new programme, "Hamari Beti", was launched by Arun Kumar Grover, Vice-Chancellor, PU, on the ocassion. The celebration also incorporated the World Radio Day call by the UNESCO.

Two snatchers arrested: The police arrested two snatchers named Sahil, a resident of Sector 41 A, along with Ankush, a resident of Sector 23, Chandigarh. The DSP, Ashish Kapoor said the accused confessed that they had snatched number of purses and stole batteries, tyres of motorcycles, scooter from different locations of the city.

A general body meeting of the Punjab Government Pensioners Association will be held at the Rose Garden in Phase 3B-1 at 11 am on February 15. This was decided today at the meeting of the executive of the association.
