Career counselling session held
:A career counselling session was held at YS College in Handhiaya today. Several experienced personnel from the Air Force, Navy, hotel management sector and the Trident Group imparted knowledge to the students about different professions. Hundreds of students from Plus Two classes participated in the session. Secretary of the college Darshan Kumar, director Varun Bharti, academic director Rajni Bharti and the principal Kusam Sharma were also present on the occasion.

Miscreants steal valuables from car
: Thieves stole a bag containing a gold bracelet, a wrist watch, Rs 2,000 and 300 British Pound, along with some clothes after smashing the windowpane of a parked Santro car in timber market, Mani Majra, on Sunday. Neetu Bansal, a resident of Sector 20, Panchkula, had parked her car in the parking lot and went to the market when the incident took place.

Vehicles stolen: Three two-wheelers and one car were stolen from different parts of the city on Saturday night. Neeraj Upadhyaya of Sector 45 reported his motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot of Neelam Cinema in Sector 22. Sandeep Gupta of Sector 45 reported his Honda Activa scooter was stolen from near his residence. Manjit Singh of Mani Majra reported his Tavera car was stolen from outside his house. Umesh Kumar of Mani Majra also reported his scooter was stolen from outside his house.

Chain snatched: Two motorcyclists snatched a gold chain from Satinder Kaur of Sector 47 near her residence on Sunday. The victim also received a minor injury on her neck. A case was registered at the Sector 31 police station.

Placement firm dupes people
: Owners of Phase X-based Maxraj World Tech Action Placement firm have allegedly duped several persons on the pretext of sending them abroad. The accused, Satnam Singh and Ruby Sharma, have been absconding. Balwinder Singh, a victim, alleged that he had given Rs 90,000 in advance to the accused for his settlement in abroad. He alleged he was neither sent to abroad nor his money was returned. “Recently when I went to their office, it was locked. There I also found around 15 persons who had also been cheated by the firm,” he said.
A case under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the IPC has been booked at the Phase-XI police.

Youth commits suicide: A 22-year-old youth of Mauli Baidwan village allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance. In his complaint, the deceased’s brother Raju, who also works in the hospital, alleged that on February 1, the deceased called him up and said a couple had been threatening him, following which he consumed poison. Raju said his brother had a quarrel with the couple on some issue around six months back. A case under Section 306 of the IPC has been registered against the couple in this connection. No arrest has been made so far.
