Phagwara gets its first ADC
Phagwara, January 17
After upgradation of the Phagwara sub-division, it got its first ADC who will operate from Phagwara to facilitate the residents of the sub-division.

Four injured in clash
Tarn Taran, January 17
Four persons caught up in a clash involving use of sharp-edged weapons and opening of fire were injured at village Nonne, 15 kilometres from here this evening. The injured, who belong to a single family, have been admitted at the local civil hospital. The injured have been identified as Bikramjit Singh (19), Lovejit Singh (18), Dilbag Singh (34) and Charan Singh (55).

Phagwara gets its first ADC

After upgradation of the Phagwara sub-division, it got its first ADC who will operate from Phagwara to facilitate the residents of the sub-division.

Though newly appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner Phagwara Satish Kumar Singla took over as ADC Phagwara and Phagwara Improvement Trust Chairman on Wednesday, his powers as ADC could not be defined and no notification could be issued by the government to define the powers of the new ADC till now even after one week of the orders issued by the government as the post of ADC was created for Phagwara last month. When contacted, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Som Parkash said the process is continuing to allocate authority of the post of ADC, created first time in Phagwara to facilitate the residents who were being forced to travel fifty km to district headquarters Kapurthala for official work which could now be done in Phagwara.

42 schoolkids adopted

Helping Hands Phagwara, a social services organisation, has adopted 42 schoolchildren of Government Primary School of local Sadhu Nagar and has announced it would bear all expenses on their studies including their books, stationery and uniforms. The body is working to help the needy and poor students and has adopted hundreds of poor students.

Four persons caught up in a clash involving use of sharp-edged weapons and opening of fire were injured at village Nonne, 15 kilometres from here this evening.

The injured, who belong to a single family, have been admitted at the local civil hospital. The injured have been identified as Bikramjit Singh (19), Lovejit Singh (18), Dilbag Singh (34) and Charan Singh (55).

According to information, as many as 50 to 60 persons armed with weapons including rifles attacked a rival group, injuring four persons.

A Sadar police team reached the spot and admitted the injured in the local civil hospital.
