The two-day India Pakistan defence secretary-level talks on Siachen ended Tuesday amid continuing stalemate. A joint statement issued here at the conclusion of the talks did not point to any progress but affirmed desire to continue the dialogue process.

There is more bad news for the economy as growth worries for the economy are mounting with the industrial production numbers for April came in at a very low 0.1 per cent today brightening the prospects of a rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) next week.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) will hear the 16-year-old murder case of human rights activist Jaleel Andrabi here tomorrow for the first time after the main accused, Major Avtar Singh, shot himself dead in the US on June 9.

8 Chinese held in HP; cash, SIM cards seized
Shimla, June 12
The police has arrested eight Chinese nationals from a house-cum-monastery in Chauntra village of Mandi district. It seized Rs 30 lakh, $3,000 and some other foreign currencies in cash, along with mobile phones, some of which were suspected to have Chinese SIM cards. It is for the first time that such a large number of Chinese suspects have been nabbed in the state. The suspects had been under the police watch for the past sometime.
