The 12-member delegation, led by NGO chairman Kuldeep Singh Walada, is expected to meet the PM in the first week of April.

The NGO has been spearheading a movement for the construction of the corridor on the border from the Dera Baba Nanak in India to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan since 2001. It held a first ‘ardas’ (prayer) on Vaisakhi, nine years back at the Dera Baba Nanak Gurdwara for the construction of the corridor. The NGO would hold 109th ardas at Dera Baba Nanak on March 15, said Wadala, also a veteran Akali leader. Hoping that the corridor would soon be constructed, Wadala said Dr. Manmohan Singh had already assured to work in the direction of paving way for the corridor during his meeting with the the NGO in 2004. Pakistan had already started constructing the road leading to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, Wadala added.
