Dense fog envelops North India

Plains of North India were completely fogged out on Monday with the duration of fog at several places extending well beyond afternoon. In fact, the dense fog cover that the region experienced today has been the worst so far this season and at some places it persisted throughout the day, throwing normal life completely out of gear.

With an eye on the forthcoming election season, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission, benefitting 3.5 lakh employees to the tune of 20 to 25 per cent each. The Haryana Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, cleared the recommendations made by the Pay Revision Committee (PRC) constituted under the chief secretary.
