New Delhi, December 22
India today handed over to Pakistan a letter written by Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was involved in the November 26 Mumbai terror strikes, in which he confirmed that he and the terrorists who carried out the audacious attack were from Pakistan.

Pakistan’s acting high commissioner to India Afrasiab was summoned to the external affairs ministry this evening and handed over the letter from Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist who is in the custody of the Mumbai police.

In his letter addressed to the Pakistan high commission, Kasab has stated that he and the other terrorists killed in the attack were from Pakistan and sought a meeting with the Pakistan high commission. Commission press counsellor Abid Sayeed said the Pakistani government would “examine the letter before commenting on it”.
