Kasab letter given to Pak
The captured terrorist had sought meeting with his country’s envoy

India today handed over to Pakistan a letter written by Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was involved in the November 26 Mumbai terror strikes, in which he confirmed that he and the terrorists who carried out the audacious attack were from Pakistan.

Pak terrorist infrastructure threat to world: Pranab
New Delhi, December 22
India is not closing the option of striking at militant camps across the border if Pakistan fails to deliver on its promise to crush terrorist groups operating on its soil. As India put the composite dialogue process with Islamabad on hold, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today asserted that the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan was the greatest danger to peace and security of the entire civilised world.

India has given no proof: Pak
Pakistan on Monday refuted India’s claim that it has conveyed evidence relating to the Mumbai attack to Islamabad. Responding to queries regarding Indian external affairs minister Parnab Mukharjee's statement that proof has been provided to Pakistan on Mumbai strikes and previous terrorist acts, foreign office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq said : “The Pakistan government has so far not received any information or evidence relating to the Mumbai incident from India”.

SC wants four judges to go

The Supreme Court has recommended the transfer of four High Court judges to enable the CBI conduct a free and fair investigation into the Uttar Pradesh provident fund scam in which the names of 34 judges, including one from the apex court, and judicial officers had cropped up.

Crude bomb injures 3 in Rohtak
Rohtak, December 22
A couple and their minor daughter were injured in a crude bomb explosion in the housing board colony of Sector 1 here late this evening. The injured were shifted to PGIMS where they have been stated to be out of danger. The injuries suffered by the victims, identified as Prashant alias Raju, his wife Chanchal and 11-year-old daughter Munny, have reportedly been described as minor with some burns on limbs.

Drug lord drugs his way out of custody
Guwahati, December 22
Drug lord and one of the most wanted criminals in the north-east, Pakhi Mian, alias Samsul Haque Talukdar, escaped from judicial custody in the wee hours today after drugging two policemen guarding over him in a hospital cabin here. The drug lord was admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on December 19 as per advice of the doctor of Guwahati jail. Mian, who was facing three murder charges and an accused in 21 other cases relating to smuggling of drugs, fled from the hospital cabin much to the embarrassment of the city police.
