Commandos of the National Security Guard ended the takeover of the iconic Taj Mahal hotel by terrorists since late Thursday night when the last of the three gunmen who were playing a cat and mouse game with the soldiers were shot dead a little before 9 a.m.

About-turn: ISI chief won’t be coming
Islamabad, November 29
Pakistan today backtracked on sending ISI chief Shuja Pasha to India in connection with the probe into the terrorist attacks in Mumbai and instead deputed a representative of the spy agency for the task.

Soon after Pakistan backtracked on sending the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief to India in connection with the Mumbai terror probe, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has blamed the about-turn on a “miscommunication” with India.

Mumbai experience to be part of NSG training
New Delhi, November 29
The NSG, which played a pivotal role in the anti-terror operations in Mumbai, has decided to include the siege experience in its new training schedule for its elite Black Cat commandos. The NSG is purely a deputation force with personnel and officials drawn from the Army and various paramilitary forces like the CRPF, ITBP, CISF, BSF and SSB.

Besides putting the defence forces on high alert, instructions have been issued to defence personnel to keep their weapons with them all the time than getting them deposited with the Quarter Guards of their respective units as per existing rules.

Shantanu Saikia had been dreading this moment. But it came to him nevertheless, just as it did to hundreds others who lost their dear ones to the dastardly terror attacks in Mumbai.
