Tribune News Service

Srinagar, August 6
Army posts in the Nowgam sector of Kupwara came under fire from across the Line of Control (LoC) today. Army spokesperson Lt-Col A.K. Mathur said the fire was for a short duration and they could not ascertain as to whether the Pakistan army was behind the incident. However, no damage was reported.

Lt-Col Mathur said the fire started at around 12.15 pm and ended soon. In the past 10 days, the Army posts have twice come under fire from the Pakistan army. Lt-Col Mathur said: “Militants from their hideouts also fire at our Army posts to create confusion between the two armies,” he said.
