The Rajasthan government today invoked the National Security Act in 15 districts of the state with the Gujjar community intensifying its protest across the state. With additional Army units clamping down on the epicentre of the protest at Bharatpur district, protesters at other places kept the state police busy.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court
today reversed its own committees’ recommendations and placed at least
31 PCS (Judicial) officers back in the judgment seat. Nearly six years
after the “first committee” recommended the termination of officers
belonging to 1998-2001 batches subsequent to the unearthing of the
alleged Punjab Public Service Commission scam, a three-judge Bench of
the High Court ordered the reinstatement of the petitioners before it.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court
has asked the state to expedite the investigations in the first
information report registered against four PCS (Judicial) candidates of
the 2001 batch, while refusing to grant them immediate relief.
