Khalsa Action Committee has condemned the bomb blast in Ludhiana leaving several innocent persons dead or maimed.

Terming the killings as inhuman and barbaric, Bhai Mohkam Singh, Bhai Jasbir Singh Khalsa, Bhai Daljit Singh and Kanwarpal Singh, have called upon the government to investigate the matter thoroughly to unmask its perpetrators.

We demand a judicial enquiry into the incident that was aimed at creating fear psychosis in the minds of the people, they added.

People of the state have already paid a huge price before normalcy could be restored. They alleged that some efforts were being made to push the state into militancy again.

They also flayed the statements of former DGP K. P. S. Gill and former Youth Congress chief, M. S. Bitta for maligning Sikh leaders and organisations. The leaders have extended their condolences to the bereaved families and said the loss was for every Punjabi.

Meanwhile several political, social and religious leaders have strongly condemned the Ludhiana blast and described them as an inhuman act.

Talking to newsmen at different places here today, former minister and Punjab BJP president Madan Mohan Mittal, Punjab local bodies minister Manoranjan Kalia, medical education minister Tikshan Sood, ex-Congress ministers Joginder Singh Maan, Ch Santokh Singh, PPCC secretary Parminder Mehta and Dharmik Samiti convenor Dr Yogender Paul Sharma have expressed deep anguish and sorrow over the act.

They said government should take the incident of this sabotage with firm hands and launch a state level campaign against fundamental forces and anti-social elements actively working to disturb the peace and communal harmony, which could not be allowed at any cost.

They stressed the need to call an all-party meeting to bring all parties on one platform against anti-national elements.

Villagers, led by sarpanch Mohinder Ram Jhalli and former sarpanch Prem Singh, apprised the MLA of the fact that though a water supply scheme was sanctioned and even the work for the bore-well was started in 2001 during the previous SAD-BJP regime, but the scheme is still lying unimplemented.

The MLA immediately called officials of the public health department (rural water supply) - executive engineer V.K. Mehta and SDO Vijay Kumar - there.

ADC (development) Pritam Singh Johal inquired from the officials concerned about the present status of the Langroya water supply scheme.
