Poultry owners take to streets

Chandigarh, November 4
Accusing the Punjab and Haryana Governments of bartering away their interests to big companies in the guise of contract farming, poultry farmers today organised a massive protest here and vowed to "fight to the finish." against the mega projects for poultry industry in the region. Organised under the aegis of the North Zone Broiler Breeders Association at the new rally site in Sector 25 here, thousands of the poultry farmers came down heavily on the mega projects in the poultry industry which, they alleged, would deal a death blow to the poultry industry.
