Jalandhar Stone laid: General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps, Lieut-General Noble Thamburaj laid the foundation stone of residential quarters for the Corps Dental Unit in the cantonment on Saturday morning. The accommodation for Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks will come up in a year’s time opposite the Sainik Hospital. The project’s contract has been given to a Delhi-based firm, M/S Friends Engineers. The Chief Engineer, Jalandhar Zone, Mr Suresh Dhar said the residential unit would be equipped with ultra-modern facilities and would cost over Rs 115 lakh. He added that the Core Dental Unit being built under the scheme would have air-conditioned dental surgical rooms.
