No ticket checking by flying squad
Solan, June 3 The incident pertains to a Delhi-bound bus HP-07-5137 which was stopped by a four-member flying squad team near Barog around 7 pm yesterday. A passenger Aditya Sharma, who was travelling from Shimla, revealed that it was surprising that instead of entering the bus to check the tickets the entire team preferred to complete the paper work by mere jotting details of ticket numbers from the conductor. Interestingly, an HRTC official who was also travelling by the same bus did not bother to question the flying squad as to why they had not checked the tickets though he descended down to greet his fellow colleagues. The squad members after completing the requisite paper work let the bus go and waited for other bus on the National Highway-22. The conductor, when quizzed by the commuters, said that since his working was well known to the team they thought it apt to skip it. The HRTC MD Mr Shrikant Baldi, when contacted, expressed surprise and said that he would inquire into the matter. With losses surmounting in the HRTC, the flying squads have been instituted to check conductors making money on the sly. Such incidents have not only shown the corporation in poor light but have reflected poorly on the honesty of its staff. |
