Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Haryana: Naraingarh 7, Kalka 5, Delhi Ridge 3, Chandigarh and New Delhi (Safdarjung) 2 each and Ambala, New Delhi (Palam), Panchkula and Sirsa 1 each. Himachal Pradesh: Una 2 and Kasauli, Shimla and Solan 1 each. Punjab: Nangal 4, West Rajasthan: Churu 2 and East Uttar Pradesh: Sultanpur 1.
Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal; fell in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, markedly below normal in Punjab, appreciably below normal in Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.1C recorded at Jaisalmer.
