Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperature rose in Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: It was appreciably below normal in Punjab, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.4°C recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 1: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 1: Partly cloudy sky. Fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 7°C.
