RSS mounts pressure on Advani to quit
New Delhi, July 11
The reverse counting for Lal Krishna Advani seems to have begun with the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh tonight mounting pressure on him to step down as BJP President sooner than later. However, it was not immediately known whether the RSS had set any timeframe for Mr Advani to hand over the baton of the party to a younger leader.

Twenty persons were feared drowned when a boat ferrying them capsized in the Sutlej at Dhera Dhara village in Ferozepure district this evening, official reports said.

The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index today breached the 7300-point mark to touch 7320 points before closing at 7306 points, its highest-ever mark. The stock markets gained 94 points or 1.3 per cent today. In the broader markets, Nifty touched an intra-day high of 2,224 before closing at 2,218. — TNS
