53 die as Maoists blow up bus in Nepal
Kathmandu, June 6
At least 53 persons were killed today in perhaps the biggest civilian casualty in the nine years of the Maoist insurgency in Nepal when a landmine planted by the rebels blew a passenger bus to pieces.

Unfazed, Advani welcomes debate on Jinnah issue
New Delhi, June 6
BJP President L.K. Advani today showed no remorse for his comments on Pakistan and its founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He remained firm on his views as he welcomed a debate on the issue with anyone, including the Sangh Parivar.

Radicals, SGPC men clash near Akal Takht
Amritsar, June 6
Confusion prevailed in front of Akal Takht for more than an hour when activists of radical Sikh organisations raised slogans like ‘Khalistan Zindabad’, ‘Amar Shaheed Bhindranwale amar rahe’, ‘Badal murdabad’ and ‘Bibi Jagir Kaur murdabad’ by brandishing unsheathed swords.

Ending months of speculation, the Punjab Government today decided to remove Mr Harbhagwan Singh from his post of Advocate-General (AG), Punjab. Sources in the government said that Senior Advocate and noted criminal lawyer R.S. Cheema had been chosen to replace Mr Harbhagwan Singh.
