constituted a National Knowledge Commission, headed by Mr
Sam Pitroda, a press note issued by the Prime Minister’s
Office said today. Dr
P.M. Bhargava will be the Vice-Chairperson of the commission
while its members will be Mr Nandan Nilekani, Dr Deepak
Nayyar, Mr Ashok Ganguly, Dr Andre Beteille, Dr Jayati Ghosh
and Dr Pratap Bhanu Mehta.
Big turnout
in Haryana byelections Chandigarh, June 2
While heavy polling has been reported in
the Kiloi and Tosham Assembly constituencies, Hisar reported comparatively
moderate voting today. According to an
official spokesman, about 87 per cent polling was reported from Tosham, about 85
per cent from Kiloi and 62 per cent from Hisar.

results of which were declared here today. While Sunila Kumari of BCM Senior
Secondary School, Focal Point, Ludhiana, stood first in the humanities group,
Prabhjot Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines,
Ludhiana, bagged the first position in the vocational stream.
