Girls do it again in Class XII results

Girls have outshone boys in the Class XII examinations (humanities, vocational) of the Punjab School Education Board, the results of which were declared here today. While Sunila Kumari of BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, Ludhiana, stood first in the humanities group, Prabhjot Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, bagged the first position in the vocational stream.

According to the merit lists released by the board, all top 13 positions in the humanities group were bagged by girls while in the vocational stream only three boys figured in the top 10 positions. Most of the students who bagged the top positions were from schools falling in Ludhiana district.

Neha Goel of Sanmati Vimal Jain Senior Secondary Public School, Jagraon, and Swati Kakkar of RS Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, shared the second position in the humanities group while Liza Bhatia again of RS Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, bagged the third position on the merit list.

In the vocational stream Deeksha Kalhotra of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, secured the second position and Amanvir Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, stood third.

In the humanities group 1,88,563 students appeared in the examination out of which 1,22,173 were declared successful putting the pass percentage at 64.79. Only, 7,702 students appeared for the examination in the vocational stream out of which 4,746 cleared the examination and the pass percentage in this category was 61.62.
