Blast clues sent to lab for tests
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, May 24
The Special Cell of the Delhi police which is investigating the Sunday’s twin bomb blasts in cinema halls today claimed that bomb pieces have been sent to the CFSL and the NSG for examination.

However, it said LeT militant Mohammad Ishaq Ittoo who was soon picked up after explosions, had no links with the blasts. Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Karnal Singh said, “Ittoo has no links with the blasts.’’

The police is awaiting reports from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) and the National Security Guards (NSG),” he said.

He also declined to speculate on which group might be behind the attacks, except to say that the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen had been quite active. ‘’The material we have gathered does not point to any specific group,’’ Mr Karnal Singh said.

Meanwhile, the police has tightened security in and around cinema halls as people have begun streaming back to theatres after the Sunday bombings during the screening of ‘’Jo Bole So Nihaal’’, condemned by some Sikh groups as insulting to their faith.
