Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Rajasthan, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Haryana: Hissar 2 and Rohtak 1, Punjab: Amritsar 2 and East Rajasthan: Ajmer 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Punjab, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, rose in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly below normal in Punjab, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in Haryana and west Rajasthan, above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 42.5°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 30: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab.Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in east Uttar Pradesh and west Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls are likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
