Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, March 25
The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today passed a resolution urging the party high command to suspend Mr Jagmeet Singh Brar from the party immediately and also expel him from the organisation subsequently.

Taking a serious note of the recent statements made by Mr Brar against the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, the PPCC, in a resolution passed against him (Mr Brar), here today said Mr Brar was never a congressman at heart. And he had been describing the Congress party symbol “Hand” as a hand smeared with human blood.

The PPCC meeting, which was presided over by its President, Mr H.S. Hanspal and attended by almost all senior office-bearers and presidents of the district units, has also decided to completely boycott, Mr Brar with immediate effect and also to sever all political ties with him.

The PPCC has warned that party political activists who would maintain any sort of relationship with Mr Brar would face action. Copies of the resolutions passed with regard to boycott and seeking expulsion etc had been sent to the party high command.

The meeting also adopted a resolution to condemn and disapprove strongly the unethical and anti-party activities of Mr Brar for getting cheap publicity in the media.

Among those who attended the meeting included Mr Avtar Singh Brar, Mr Parminder Singh, Mr Upinder Sharma, Mr Rajpal Singh, Mr Lakhwinder Singh, Mr Ram Pal Daipy, Mr Malkiat Singh Birmi, Mr Vishnu Sharma, Mr Tejinder Bittu and Mr Ved Parkash Gupta.
