Militants storm DC’s office complex, 8 dead
Srinagar, February 24
Eight persons, including three civilians, two CRPF men, a policeman and two militants were killed in a fidayeen attack on the Divisional Commissioner’s office complex here this afternoon. Both the ‘fidayeens’ were among the killed in the attack which concluded at about 6 here this evening.

CEC seeks report from DM

In a significant development, the Chief Election Commission has suspended counting of votes in the Ajnala byelection till further order in the wake of widespread violence and complaints of rigging and booth capturing and electoral malpractices during the polling yesterday.

IA to start direct flight to Kabul

The visiting Afghan President and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today decided to give a high-level direction to Indo-Afghan relations and as a testimony of this it was decided that Indian Airlines will start direct flight from New Delhi to Kabul from March 27.
