Srinagar, January 15
In stepped-up violence ahead of
the Republic Day celebrations, militants made a suicide attack at
the highly guarded Indoor Stadium here this afternoon, only eight
days after a similar attack on the Income Tax Office, where seven
persons, including two militants, were killed in a 26-hour
operation.

Terrorists
sneaking in despite fencing, says Gen Vij
New Delhi, January 15
Fencing along the Indo-Pak border has
helped in bringing down the infiltration to almost negligible levels,
although the terrorists were still making attempts to sneak in from across
the border in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief of Army Staff General N.C. Vij said
today.

Haryana rebels lay siege to Cong HQ
