proposal received for judges’ transfers, says Law Minister

The Law Minister, Mr H.R. Bharadwaj
today said the government had not received any proposal from the Chief
Justice of India so far about the transfer of Chief Justices and judges of
some High Courts, including those from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

ruling upholding the ban on contesting local body elections by persons
with more than two children by the Haryana Government, saying the law in
this regard had already been laid down earlier when the state had imposed
