Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. the chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar 2 and Sundernagar 1; and Jammu and Kashmir: Batote and Katra 1 each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperature rose in Haryana, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and appreciably below normal in Rajasthan. The highest temperature in the region was 40°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 4: Rain or thudnerhsowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
