NC threatens to pull out of poll

Srinagar, May 2
The National Conference today threatened to pull out of the third and fourth phases of parliamentary elections if the Election Commission failed to take action on the party’s complaint against ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti.

The National Conference has lodged a complaint with the election Commission against the PDP president for harassing and humiliating a genuine voter at Sonawar.

Rana said the party was contemplating to pull out of the remaining two phases of the elections if the commission failed to act on National Conference complaint.

The PDP president, while making a tour of election booths on April 26, had forcibly removed the veil of one Shabum while she was at the Sonawar polling station. — PTI
