In a significant ruling, the Delhi High Court discarded the normal practice of allowing a deserted wife one-fifth of the husband’s ‘disposable’ income, and held that as much as one-half of the husband’s earnings should be divided equally among the other members of the family.

SC clicks ‘ok’ button for computers in govt schools
New Delhi, March 21
In a major order, the Supreme Court has okayed the Government of NCT of Delhi’s tender process for establishing a state-of-the-art computer labs in each of its 748 schools at a cost of Rs 100 crore with a view to putting the students there on a par with those studying in public schools.

Political slugfest ends in fisticuffs

They had come to exercise their vocal chords but ended in exchanging fisticuffs. A first information report (FIR) registered at the Nangloi Police Station yesterday unfolds the drama in which Union Labour Minister and BJP’s candidate from the Outer Delhi parliamentary constituency Sahib Singh Verma called a Delhi minister names and manhandled his son.

The shopkeepers in Sonepat town have been forced to have sleepless nights following a spate of thefts during the last four days. There have been more than a dozen incidents of thefts—eight on a single night on March 16. The culprits managed to take away the stolen articles and cash each time and escaped..

Blind with love, girl gets her parents killed
Bulandshahr, March 21
A young woman reportedly got her parents mercilessly killed by her lover in Secundrabad three days ago. The police arrested three persons, including the daughter and her lover, and recovered the car and the sharp-edged weapon used in the crime.

The South-West district police arrested a man and seized 330 bottles of illicit liquor from a Santro near the Sarojini Nagar bus depot today. The accused was identified as Mehar Chand alias Kaku (24), resident of Kanjawala.

Sahara to join hands with FIH to promote hockey

Sahara India, which sponsors the Indian hockey team, will soon expand its hockey horizon when it signs a three-year deal with the International Hockey Federation (FIH), to become the fourth global partner of the federation.
