Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh, rose in East Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and West Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and East Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.4°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Haryana and Punjab and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Haryana and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 12: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
